Services

Home > Services
Our services are highly specialized treatments for diverse and complex dental conditions. We serve a wide range of dental issues spanning from missing teeth, chewing, biting, and TMJ disorders, aesthetic issues, infectious concerns and painful emergencies. Prosthodontic services require dentists to have advanced training and perform state-of-the-art techniques and procedures. Sometimes referred to as “restorative services,’” they include crowns, bridges, dentures and implants restorations.

Crowns

A crown is a type of restoration that structurally and aesthetically restores the tooth’s shape and color.  A crown is fabricated to fit snug on top of your damaged or weakened natural tooth and creates a sealed, protective and strengthening cover.

Crowns are typically made out of solid high-grade porcelain, porcelain bonded to high noble metal, or gold and provide long-lasting results for 20 – 30 years.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium metal cylinders surgically placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth.  The bone integrates with the titanium implant through a process called osseo-integration.

Implants replace the roots of missing teeth and sit under the gum.  A crown is then needed to be fabricated to attach and fit precisely on top of the implant.  This is the component that is visible and above the gum line.  State-of-the-art technology makes it possible for these implant-supported replacement teeth to look, feel and function like natural teeth.

Implants can support single crowns, large bridges and also full-arch dentures.

Bridges

A bridge is a type of restoration used to replace missing teeth and fill the space(s) where a single tooth or multiple teeth are missing.

Some bridges are permanently attached, called fixed bridges, and some are removable, called removable partial dentures.

Occlusal Guards

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are used to modify the shape and shade of teeth.  They can improve the appearance of teeth and even reduce or eliminate spacing between teeth.

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are etched and then bonded to the enamel of the teeth. A small amount of tooth structure must be removed to make room for the porcelain veneer to fit over the tooth without making it look and feel bulky.  The tooth preparation is limited to the enamel and usually involves only a few surfaces of the tooth.

Once bonded to your teeth, porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable.  They are very strong and long-lasting with adequate oral hygiene home-care.  Porcelain veneers can be an ideal solution for patients who want to improve the appearance of front teeth.

Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic treatment, also known as root canal therapy, stems from “endo” meaning “inner” in Greek.  Endodontic treatment removes the nerve from the tooth’s inner canal and de-vitalizes the tooth, slowly allowing the body to heal any inflammation or pain.

Dentures

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth.

There are two types of dentures: complete and partial. Complete dentures replace all teeth and removable partial dentures (some people call these removable bridges) replace missing teeth when some natural teeth remain.

Dentures will improve chewing and may also improve speech problems caused by missing teeth.

Dental Hygiene

In addition to obvious cosmetic reasons, the real benefit of a professional dental cleaning is preventive – it helps to prevent more serious problems from occurring.

Dr. Loukaitis recommend following the guidelines and procedures set forth by the American Dental Association which include brushing and flossing twice a day. The ADA recommends a dental exam and professional check up every 6 months as well.

A thorough cleaning of the teeth and the tissues visible above the gum line is called prophylaxis.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a dental bleaching technique used to correct discoloration of teeth and to improve the aesthetics of your smile.

Tooth whitening can be used for a single tooth, the front teeth only, or a full arch.

Depending on the desired result, color changes can range from a slight change to match an adjacent tooth to an entire smile shades brighter.

Factors that can affect the results include the degree of existing stains, the cause of staining, and the type of whitening system used.
